Home from ConDensed. 2:45 hour journey home ended up taking 5 hours thanks to what was clearly a major incident on the M1 based on the number of ambulances and fire engines that went past. (Because of the delay we also stopped for food which added more time.) Blog post to follow.

I've signed up for this but won't be posting progress every day because I'm going on holiday in the middle of it. But today I did some work on Angier's Folly, and I reckon I can have it ready to send to the editor by the end of the week. Maybe I'll even get the new cover done.

I had a lovely time discussing scenario writing, tools, methods and resources with these lovely people.

We've finished Extraordinary Attourney Woo (thanks @dampscot.bsky.social for the recommendation) so need new shows to space out episodes of Tomorrow. So far, Strong Girl Bong-Soon turns out to be quite a lot like Behind Your Touch. We've got a cute female lead with a supernatural power...

I won a new book in the raffle at Furnace and now I once again find myself with insufficient shelves. I'm counting on people at the ConTingency bring and buy to help me out with this.

This morning's game was SLA Industries, where the team set out to change the paper in the printer. It took them a few hours but they did eventually get their kebabs.

Just played my first game of Pendragon. It's nicely put together, the passions are fun, and the skill list is reasonable sized for a BRP game.

Finished both my scenarios for Furnace this weekend. That was a close one! Normally I like to do online test runs of scenarios, but I don't think I can fit one in this time...

I've printed character sheets, the scenario, and the sign-up sheet for K-pop Demon Hunters: Hoobaes. I've got a sign-up sheet, the book and my deck of cards for Wraithound. I'm sure I've got index cards somewhere. Let's hope they're in the bag I think they're in.

Given that we're having to space out episodes of Tomorrow so as not to dump too much trauma on ourselves at once, we've started a second show. Extraordinary Attorney Woo. Absolutely loving it so far. Woo Young Woo is lovely and the rest of the cast feels equally nuanced and well written. Delightful.

Prepping for my Dragonbane scenario at Furnace. Most of the actual plot is done, and I've got a rough idea what maps I'm going to use. But the worst part is creating characters. Normally I love character creation for one-shots, but not for Dragonbane! Two cat people down, three to go. Arrgh.

Started a new K-drama: Tomorrow. I don't think I can actually recommend this one, as while it's a supernatural drama based on Korean mythology (hence why we started watching it), its theme is suicide prevention which means the subject matter is extremely heavy. Still stars a Kpop idol, obviously.

Slugblaster campaign finished last night. Overall I think this is a great version of FITD and the downtime system is way more interesting than the way Blades keeps ending up as 'Welp, time to relieve stress again'. Although it does have the usual FITD issue that dice are bastards.

Once more we prepare to face the glistening buttock monster.

More Behind Your Touch. It's dawned on me that Detective Moon is playing a rather similar role to Nicholas Angel in Hot Fuzz. Big city cop forced to move to a small rural town where crime is largely livestock based. He even has to get Deok Hee (the Danny equivalent) to translate for him at times.

I was about to livestream some Dragonbane but Roll20 says no. :( Resuming in two weeks, with any luck. Gloomshire will be there waiting for them.

Continuing Behind Your Touch. It's clear this show was devised after some possibly alcohol related conversation about how to make psychometry as inconvenient as possible. It's very funny watching Bong Ye Bun and Det. Moon come up with increasingly unhinged plans to enable her to use her powers.

New K-drama: Behind Your Touch. A vet gets psychometry powers from a meteor strike, resulting in a mix of wacky hijinks, deep pathos and absolute horror as she sees through the eyes of any human or animal but only when she touches their butt. Naturally she witnesses a murder.

Finished Secret Royal Inspector and Joy. The baddies were taken down by a plan so ridiculous it would fit right in in an RPG, which at one point involved one of the characters dressing up as Sadako from The Ring, an impressive feat for someone in Joseon Korea. Now trying a show about a psychic vet.

This is why for years I thought I didn't like sci-fi novels. Turns out I just don't like the kind of sci-fi that Campbell liked. Lois McMaster Bujold's Vorkosigan saga was how I found out I actually love sci-fi novels. I don't think Campbell would have approved of Cordelia Naismith.

Husband has lured me into watching a Joseon era K-drama by the cunning method of finding one with murders in. Things I have learned so far: There is a specific hat for various professions and social statuses and I am having to learn them all. The gat and hanbok combo looks good on everyone.
