This isnt very pretty, but that's not what matters here. I got my 2.5D physics working which was a big hurdle! Definitely need to work on improving the editor tooling to make lining up the 3D collisions easier. Then I can port my existing character behaviors to the new 2.5D system. #gamedev #godot

Finally figured a solid art direction I want to go with my game. Unfortunately to execute on it, I still really need to get my 2.d map system to be bullet proof as it'll be the foundation of all my content. As for story, still very 🤷 on that but also depends on a mechanic I need to prototype.

Ugh I don't get #GitHub action storage. I have a nightly ci/cd run that builds my game, then the artifacts expire after a single day. Even though they're getting deleted, the action storage usage remains filled up 😤 I have tons of action minutes to spare monthly, but the 0.5gb storage is nothing.

Been experimenting with AI coding and it's been constrained to one of my modules so far. I began looking less closely and trusting the code reviews more. That was a bad move because I've gone back to look closer and realize it has dead code and architecture issues all over the place. Lesson learned.

I'm probably making a big mistake for #Godot development time by making my systems work with 2D and 3D. I'm realizing achieving the shadows I want can't be done in pure 2D, so I'm doing like a 2.5D approach. But I'm still at a fixed angle so I don't actually need 3D meshes to be rendered...

Some random map generation. Not good map generation, but it is in fact randomly generated! It may look like random TileMapLayers but I've really been cooking up a more advanced tile system on top of this. I also define tiles in as resources which automatically gets loaded. #gamedev #godot
