One of my grad school professors here at SUNY New Paltz was Arthur Cash, biographer of Laurence Sterne. Classes met in his kitchen. Wine was served. We read Tristram Shandy, and he laughed at each joke and funny scene like a happy, new discovery. What made grad school worthwhile? Moments like this.
