Latest project was making a pair of geta. Don't have much to say about walking in them yet, only spent an hour doing so, I'd compare them to flip flops so far. Cool thing was I made them in 3 hours with a hand saw and a drill, used $10 for materials, and I got to see what it feels like to be 6'7"!

Started another Fediverse account on Wafrn, I was really missing Tumblr, and Wafrn is scratching the itch.

Will keep using this account of course, and will focus on posting memes on Wafrn, so all my normal stuff will continue here.

Everyone: "Default feed algorithms with the incentive to keep people in the app longer are dangerous and will bring the downfall of democracy and society as we know it." Also, everyone: "Bluesky will die if it doesn't have a good default algorithm that keeps people in the app longer."

Last few times I've tried to upload an image, it hasn't worked, just what appears to be a placeholder. The first image I tried to upload was a jpg, the next two were png. All three of them were not that large of files (100-500kb). Any thoughts on how to troubleshoot?

I tried to figure out adding rss to my site. Here's what I came up with:
davidbaunach.com/rss.xml
And it sort of works. Works on one reader, breaks another. I'm open to any thoughts or corrections or directions! My goal is to keep it as simple as possible, but I'm fine adding a few things.

Reminder, or introduction to those too new to know it -- Bluesky culture is to report and block trolls. Don't feed trolls with responses. They live to get a rise out of us. Deprive them of oxygen on Bluesky and they will go elsewhere.

If you call 911, you get the cops. We really need to help people understand this. You might get someone else too. But you always get cops. Do not call 911 unless you are sure that everyone on the scene needs to be policed. Including yourself.
