This is what the centre of the Milky Way looks like IF YOU COULD SEE RADIO WAVES Those filaments are strands of powerful magnetic fields, and the bubbles are supernova remnants. The really bright object at the centre of the image is Sgr A*, the supermassive black hole at the heart of the galaxy.

It's a wonderful sight.
