Breaking News! Code UFB!!! The daily CO2 number from Mauna Loa exceeded 430 ppm yesterday. This is the first reading above 430 ever recorded. CO2 levels have not been this high since the Pliocene epoch, 3 to 5 million years ago.

#1 I think this is a very nice comparison of heather-dominated #peatland carbon emissions (CO2 & #methane). There are hardly any such data available, especially not long-term. These are based on chamber fluxes.

@sei.org @ect-uk.bsky.social 13 years of upland peatland climate data (Peatland-ES-UK). They show a very alarming upward trend for temperatures, especially in winter, this means more respiration (C-loss) and less net carbon uptake. However, overall it is also getting slightly drier and sunnier.
