I met my wife eight years ago today outside a Pep Boys in South Philly while wearing a Brian Dawkins jersey after waking up at 3 a.m. to head to Broad Street and party. Through the magic of sports, all things are possible.

The NFL’s success has long been market-proof and, to a degree, superstar-proof, but I think we’re reaching a scenario, for just today specifically, where that stuff probably matters more than previously thought. I’m sure a bajillion people will watch it, but it’s a weird Super Bowl Sunday.

Sour grapes and whatnot I guess, but this is just the juiceless Super Bowl Sunday in football history.

From last night: I wrote about the new Philly Special 30 for 30 capturing the catharsis that the 2017 Eagles brought this city.

Obviously, you’d take ANY championship in ANY fashion you can get, but the Eagles winning the Super Bowl the first time in an all-time great game in the most unlikeliest of ways and then being the big, bad wolf and kicking ass the second time was pretty perfect.

Biggest THE PHILLY SPECIAL 30 for 30 thought… If I could live the morning of the Falcons playoff game through the day of the first Super Bowl parade on permanent loop, I would.
