a lot of consoles have a unique look to their graphics but tbh one of my favorites is how games look on the Neo Geo. Always super bright and colorful with big expressive sprites and lots of motion and parallax

I was talking with a coworker and we were discussing doing a 1:1 recreation of a scene from I Love Lucy but every shot featuring the title character has her replaced with a completely still and non-vocal cabbage that everyone reacts to as if she was still Lucy. It'd be called I Love Cabbage.

I wonder how hard it would be to decompile Neo Turf Masters.... It'd be really neat to merge the changes from the CD version back into the base neo geo version to get a more definitive release

One Battle After Another discourse is particularly tiring because I also did not like it but for correct reasons and not a lack of understanding

I'm not super familiar with either FF Tactics or Tactics Ogre (I plan to play both at some point fully) but I struggle to see why SFIII shouldn't stand along side those giants, other than it's a Saturn exclusive and thus less played

man it's kind of stunning how ambitious and well-made Shining Force 3 is. From the first moments of Scenario 2 it feels like they were really firing on all cylinders and making something really unique in how it tells a story

finished Shining Force 3 scenario 1! I forgot to unequip weapons from everyone at the end though, so I'm sure that will be fun in scenario 2

I think the one thing I really wish I could collect is Neo Geo. I'm not the biggest fighting game fan but that system and library is still so cool. I have a NGCD which is nice but I've never actually held an AES or MVS cart before

the last battle of Shining Force 3 Scenario 1 is neat but it's a little annoying that it's not clear where you need to be when the gates are open, I got caught out on the bridge and it wiped my party

Neo Mr. Do kind of sucks but I did just spend about $50 for that recent conversion of it to Neo Geo CD

oh I realized why the load times were so much worse, I turned on the extra voice lines and it straight up doubles load times lol

OK I got Mame set up and it really isn't an exaggeration to say Neo Turf Masters is a top ten game of all time. Maybe top five

I'm glad that the Lunar Remastered release is good but I wish the SCD versions of those games were more available

it is pretty funny that over all the Mario Party Parties with GB West, everyone hates them and the bit is that everyone is miserable. And then when they play it with GB East, everyone just engages with the game as it is and has a good time

it's kind of funny that when ndcube started making the Mario party games, they did a totally different style that reviewed well but the fans hated and so with super they basically made a hybrid of their style with the old Hudson style
