About halfway through rereading Devouring Fortune and comments from @thoughtsstained.bsky.social. Goal today is to get through the rest today and start putting together a revision plan for an edit pass with a focus on deepening some worldbuilding and character elements.

I'm always going to encourage you to get weirder with your writing. And I don't mean this in just a weird setting or world situation. How can you get weird with the structure? Plot?Pacing? Voice? Really explore all aspects of your writing and take a risk. Stretch your limits.

One of my goals going into 2026 is making more space for reading for fun, I didn't get through nearly as much as I wanted though borrowing from the library on a deadline certainly helped

My dogs are completely apathetic about their toys until I put them in a pile/basket and then suddenly the joy is in taking everything out and littering the house with them, before subsequently going back to ignoring them again
