Me and @t500.bsky.social caught the Vermonter crossing the Winooski River not far from Waterbury.

Seeing the Bill Watterson originals full of pencil lines of stuff that didn’t work, scuffs the eraser didn’t pick up, white out galore and more was something I needed to see to remind myself that nothing is perfect the first go and tweaks need to be made and you’re allowed to try again.

how about the Trans Europ Express? they were originally hauled by these really funky looking diesel units

To continue the train adventure posting! From Portland we boarded train 11 the Coast starlight. The train consisted of 2 Chargers, a baggage car, 3 Superliner sleepers, dining car, Observation Lounge, and 2 superliner coach cars. This train we had booked a cozy roomette.

Train adventure posting let’s go!! This year Me & @featherhors.bsky.social started our journey in Seattle’s king street station on Amtrak’s Cascades. Consist of a Charger on the point followed by 2 amfleet I coach cars, a amfleet I cafe/business, and a Cascades Cabbage car.

Today in Waterbury Vermont there was an event to celebrate 150 years of the station there. I was not able to attend, but a milestone like that is worth posting about. The station still sees passengers, and is home to a nice coffee shop.

30 years ago today Amtrak’s 1995 springs/summer time table went into effect bringing with it Amtrak’s Vermonter service trains 55 and 56. Happy 30 year’s of Amtrak’s Vermonter!!

I missed my silly train numbers milestone. BUT I’m still gonna celebrate 405!! With some Green Mountain 405!! Originally built for the Rutland Railway in 1951, and still serving the same-ish route although only for special occasions.
