I can't believe that I didn't know this. You can use Control Center to change the text size of only an individual app. I've been going into the Per-App section of Settings, Accessibility each time to do this (which is often).

The battery life on my Apple Watch Series 11 is so much better than what I’m used to. When I charge it at night, I’m not even under 50%. I’d ask if this is what it’s like to own an Ultra but can’t because I don’t like any of my watch faces.

TIL that screenshots aren't consistent with iOS 26. If you ask Siri to take the screenshot then the dynamic island is part of the screenshot. However, if you take the screenshot with the physical buttons on the iPhone the resulting screenshot does not include the dynamic island. 🤔

There is a very nasty conflict with iOS 26 Call Screening and Google Voice. If GV thinks that the call was answered too quickly it won't let the call through until you press 1. Unfortunately that's what happens when call screening answers the call. So you never get to interact with the call.

When I found out in June I was going to be speaking at @swiftleeds.co.uk I did something foreign to me: I started working on my talk immediately instead of putting it off. Honestly it’s been so nice not to have to scramble doing it at the last minute. Will I learn from this? Debatable.

I'm glad that during our speaker training for @swiftleeds.co.uk Adam pointed out that we shouldn't get hung up on try to make an error free, perfect presentation. That's not realistic and puts unnecessary pressure on you. As a first time speaker this has really helped my practice sessions.

I have been so impressed with the thermal improvements on my iPhone 17 Pro. With the 15 Pro when I played Marvel Snap it would feel ridiculously hot (even with a case). The 16 Pro was better but still hot. After a gaming session my 17 Pro was barely warm. And that’s without a case!

I fixed the strangest iOS 26 SwiftUI issue. I let the user share this section and I render it into an image. With iOS 18 (top) everything is just fine but with iOS 26 (bottom) the column headers were missing in the image. Not displaying the symbols with string interpolation fixed it. FB20324246

Mind blown. The number 10 paid weather app on the US App Store has screenshots with skeumorphism and 2011 dates.

I was surprised that an unfamiliar number was able to ring my iPhone when I was driving. There was no sign of Call Screening on the iPhone or CarPlay. I guess it makes sense because it could be very distracting interacting with it?

For the iOS 26 release of Please Don't Rain I switched to v2 of @revenuecat.com paywalls so that they could handle the translations for new languages I added. I'm adding RC Customer Center now and it's the same benefit. If I'm ok with their defaults there's nothing I have to do for localization.

A hill that I will die on, besides the dearth of digital Apple Watch faces, is that this iPad modal that I can't disable should never, ever interrupt what you're doing. Especially when it's voice dictation! iOS was changed so that it gives you a visual indication but doesn't interrupt you.

The Bluesky app isn’t an iPad app (sigh) and therefore doesn’t use the regular iPad keyboard. Ever since upgrading to iPadOS 26 I lost the ability to swipe type and the keyboard looked different. I fixed it by turning off Settings, Keyboard, Enable Key Flicks.
