Why is Canvas undergoing scheduled maintenance in the middle of finals?

I'm starting to reach the point where every time I do something in Excel I start to wonder why I'm not doing it in R so I must be making progress in my R skills.

For the third weekend in a row, I'm looking at lists of recent articles trying to determine what counts as "about inclusion" enough to propose it to my journal club and it just struck me how different that is from the US govt take that "it has a woman so it's about DEI!"

Copilot just spent the past half hour gaslighting me about my code and I left myself fall for the trap of making a "see, this is what I was talking about" post that didn't include a question. Waste of power but it's hard not to anthropomorphize after hours of work.

After stressing for weeks about a problem that seemed to suggest I had screwed up somewhere big months ago, it turns out the solution was: simplifying my model for a class paper made the model much worse than the original model. For once, I should have stayed complex and didn't!
