The last two days have been an extreme exercise in humility, but the spec has progressed by leaps and bounds. So many dumb issues and inconsistencies fixed. Still so far to go, but a lot of progress was made.

I recently mentioned that the design system doc schema I’ve been making doesn’t suck. I take it back. But I’m working to unsuck it. I‘m hoping to ship a slew of improvements this week.

More design system doc spec updates. - Added a `last-updated` metadata schema to provide a timestamp for when an entity in the docs was modified - Renamed: `name` → `identifier`, `displayName` → `name`. Yeah, I'm sorry. - Added more fidelity to the `criteria` property designsystemdocspec.org

Answering my girls’ questions about baseball makes it clear how complicated of a sport it is. That’s also partly why it’s so great.

I noticed that Netlify measures server-side traffic. I then noticed robots are my primary audience. I then noticed that I got sad.

The irony of the “deal with it message” is that it’s the runs counter to the responsibility of college graduates. Their job isn’t to deal with it. They get to set the terms of what our future looks like. Grads—do not deal with it.

If you didn't hear, Zeplin open sourced Omlet. github.com/zeplin/omlet That's incredibly generous and not something to just take for granted. A lot of time and effort was put into making this and it's a worth a look if you need a tool to measure design system adoption. So, again, big props.

Mute remains one of the best features in social media.
