Do you think Western AAA game devs even have a conversation about what the music is gonna be like for their new games at this point, or are they just like, okay see you at the orchestral recording Bryan

Over 50% of game developers now think generative AI is bad for the industry, a dramatic increase from just 2 years ago: 'I'd rather quit the industry than use generative AI'
The latest GDC survey also found that managers are more likely to use generative AI than their employees.

They keep inching towards blocking you from downloading videos too. I wouldn't be surprised if they pull that off soon. Broken record etc, back your stuff up. Also if you use a PS3 or Wii-U to play on a Tube TV, they will block that eventually too. Things are speeding up too fast man.

Like we all agreed collectively as a society that owning a computer was better than renting access to one, and then capital interests have trojan horsed the concept back into our lives as shitty products we can't escape that are convenient for the tech illiterate and sold as a hassle-free future.

It's crazy that computers started as huge mainframes you needed to share and didn't have ownership of, everyone realized that sucked, personal computers were developed to overcome this, and now we've been backsliding for like 20 years as companies try to lock us in huge mainframes we don't control.

Throwing this to the wind, but for people that don't know: Epic Games and Nvidia have had a close partnership for 15+ years in an effort to monopolize the gaming market between the two of them and push out competition in terms of hardware and game engines.

Like genuinely going insane over this. The movie is literally about a false utopia built upon exploiting a majority of the population. "We just missed out on it to make like 10 guys really rich" IS LITERALLY THE POINT OF THE MOVIE.

There's a post on Twitter about how Metropolis(1927) takes place in this year with a clip of the cityscape scene and the replies really reveal how few people actually know what that movie is about. There's people going "China is just like this!" or "We could have this if DOGE did it's job!"

Every single time there's a bunch of viral tweets trashing BlueSky for being boring, a couple days later Elon implements some god awful feature or unbans Nazis or there's another example of the userbase being uniquely miserable or cruel and it makes the dunking on this site seem silly in hindsight.

'Postal III' released on this day in 2011. With RWS outsourcing production on their third title to Russian studio Akella; whatever "charm" (?) the first two Postal installments might've once had are buried deep beneath a mountain of bugs, bad design, and tiresome self-reference.

AI has actively made life worse for literally everyone - tech is now more expensive - you cannot trust most media of reality anymore - programs barely function - energy prices - literal psychosis - your voice can be literally stolen for evil - more spyware but hey, you can avoid paying an artist.
