I did the thing. I deleted my discord account (I mean it won’t get fully deleted until 2 weeks pass) Regardless, discord was my safe haven for the past decade. But I would like to uhm not give them any more personal info. Feels like deleting my Twitter account all over again.

All TOs, community organizers, and leaders in our community need to make finding alternatives to discord a priority yesterday.

Reminder: under no circumstance should you give discord your ID. It is gonna -suck- trying to set up alternatives, and this whole fiasco is going to damage communities, but you CANNOT give them your info

So I might be deleting Discord pretty soon. Both my account and the apps. I have been looking into alternatives. There’s only a small handful that are open sourced. One of which is Fluxer. It is very much a Discord clone. They’re working on a mobile app, and I am still looking into all of this.

Absolutely do NOT give your ID or face scan on Discord. It's even worse than expected. Apparently due to people bypassing current systems, they're switching to "persona" which is funded by fucking Peter Thiel.

Not surprised that Discord lied, but fucking FURIOUS that they're sending them to a company linked to bloody Peter Thiel. Meaning any data given to Discord is absolutely going to be given to ICE and other similar groups.
