I call for the immediate release of Muhammad Zahid Chaudhry. No one should be detained while participating in the legal process to become a citizen. Chaudhry must be released and we must return immigration enforcement to a civil matter. No one should fear unlawful detention for a civil infraction.

Today I canvassed a neighborhood that brought back sharp memories of canvassing in 2021 during a heat dome, 110+ temperatures, with my young campaign manager. We were using paper address lists and wandering around the neighborhood with cars whizzing by & baking hot dusty yards.

This is the Peter Western Bridge, in Boulevard Park, where my team and I canvassed last weekend. This bridge was rebuilt by Burien Public Works after a local resident noticed that heavy winter flooding was undermining the pilings of the old bridge and that the bridge would eventually fail.
