The weirdest thing about our generation is that we've not only lost faith in governments and corporations, but in celebrity and pop culture figures as well. We don't trust pop stars or movie stars not to turn MAGA, and we don't trust authors not to be bigots or rapists. We've lost our heroes.

5 years ago people would still say "Well yes, Rowling is an awful person and a bigot, but at least her books were good", which was objectively wrong. They were never good. And it feels like its only now that people are finally learning critical thinking and basic children's level media literacy.

Update on the new home; we have thrown out an old broken cabinet from the kitchen, bought two new multi-tier storage units, a side-table, and a bead curtain. There's still some of the previous owner's badly-installed shelves to chuck out, but I'm feeling so happy with how it's starting to look!

The soft fade from Flood 1 into Lucretia, as the drums slam in as if to warrant renewed life from the waves is still, to this day, one of the best transitions in all of music.
