Coming up with a trans character's chosen name always feels so much harder than creating their birth name. I think because a name you choose is so personal, you really need to know the character. And sometimes you just need to discover it as they would. But I have my character's name now.

I'm going to need to choose soon which werewolf series I want to start releasing first - my epic fantasy set in the same world as Destiny of Dragons, or my urban fantasy that explores British and European folklore. I love both so much, but one needs to take priority over the other.

Finally got back into the routine of editing and writing work this week, after I'd been really knocked off by some events in the last few weeks. The Morning After is getting closer to being edited. Working on a few novels (not necessarily the ones I should be).

In 3 months, I've had two thirds as many direct sales through the TF Publishing website as I did in over 5 years of my old author one. I am so happy that people have engaged so much with TF, and this is just the very beginning! It's been such a delight to see this enthusiasm.

This feels unusually early in the year. Yes I did buy them.

Might be needing to take 3 more weeks of leave than planned after surgery, which will almost certainly result in some unpaid leave. Gotta work out a marketing plan to help cover some of that with book sales!

In 10 weeks I'd have arrived in Melbourne to start preparing for surgery and that's suddenly started to feel really close.

Today was some much needed positivity. After the dreadful week I've had, it was so good to spend time with friends and celebrate the full launch of TF Publishing.

This week got off to a bad start and has only gotten worse. Only highlight has been finally getting my surgery quote in, and it being about what was expected. At least I'm having a good get together with a bunch of friends on Saturday to celebrate the @tfpublishing.bsky.social print book launch.
