I'm tempted to one day write a Super Hero story where the main team is sanctioned by a democratic government, but it's not a bad thing. They get training in combat, first aid, and diplomacy; they get paid; they have insurance. They do actual good work.

I love that @tamorapierce.bsky.social Bloodhound shows that torture to get information is a bad thing. Too many fantasy/Sci-Fi series portray it as joke or a show of strength.

#FightingFantasy Solo adventure: We were able to stop King Gillibrand from continuing his quest for the False Scale of Libra. Part of that was due to his sentry striking the crown heir of Salamonis with a crossbow bolt. She survived. The diplomatic incident successfully halted the doomed quest.

Reading @tamorapierce.bsky.social Terrier. A lot of fantasy portrays slums as crowded, fetid, swarming with beggars and thieves. Terrier, though, shows it from the point of view of someone who grew up in such a place. It's rough and terrible but also the home. Filled with people. It's refreshing.
