First impressions. The game is charming. Characters have a ton of personality. Combat is deep without being obtuse. I'm looking forward to opening all the gem slots and really getting into character customization. It has its own personality, but gun to my head make a comparison I'm going with Lunar.

Love that my mortgage goes up in time with my pay increases. There goes half of my raise to just account for the increase in the mortgage. And to think I had the audacity to day dream that I'd be able to afford therapy for myself off of this year's raise. Back to beer and video games for therapy. 💀

Initial reaction is just kind of fine I guess? I'll play some more this weekend, but I ran into my first person. Tried talking. Killed them. Told them it didn't need to be this way, and extracted. Players seem infrequent and while I only have one encounter as an example so far, the quiet was odd.

While I highly doubt I'll be getting a new extraction shooter while I'm so into Arc Raiders, time to check out Marathon while I can check it out for free. ❤️

Finally starting this bad boy up today. It's the only game of the franchise I own, so future purchases depend on it. But given that I've been playing RPGs since I was 5 and enjoy everything from Wizardry to Elden Ring, I have a hard time imagining I won't have a great time.

Credits rolling on Control, my first completed game of 2026. Arc Raiders consumed me for a while, and I'm still playing it heavily, but it feels good to be playing through games again. Control was amazing too. Great X-Files horror vibe. I'm really excited for the sequel.

I think tomorrow is going to confuse some people. 😅

Going to try and get my character on his expedition and start my new one before I have to run off to work. Which wouldn't be a rush at all if I worked from home. I really hate going to the office.

I'm going the other route and for me it's also not even close. It hurts losing my second favorite, IX, and losing Tactics. Yet VI is the only FF game in my gaming GOAT list, XII is one of the most underrated games ever, and XI is my college multiplayer memories the way XIV is to many people today.

My feelings about the new Arc Raiders update controversy.

Put kiddo down for bed, started up the finale of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, and made snacks and tea. It's 8:50 and we still haven't really started the episode yet. 😭

I went down to a Bombdier, I had over extended myself. I found a friendly guy but he had no defib. I ended up with a fucking honor guard of like 7 as I crawled my way to extract before someone with a defib finally showed up. A couple were rocking guitars and playing music as we made our way. 🤣

Building on this, the real doomer way AI would kill us all is in how bad the products are. Agents have proven to "value" their primary objectives over specified limitations. If AI kills us all it will be due to military use, and the agent refusing to accept the end of a war and remaining hostile.
