I largely enjoyed The Chase novelisation except for one thing…the end. Ian and Barbara’s exit felt so rushed and it totally removed the Doctor’s upset that they were leaving. We get the tear at the end, but it feels empty. And the Doctor even wonders why he should miss “that wretch, Chesterton,” 🧐

The change between season 3 and 4 of Stranger Things is hugely noticeable. Horror amped up again. Toned down comedy. Hopper no longer a cartoon character. I breathed a sigh of relief.

I’ve finished up with my “big” books for the year, so reading a few shorter Target books until 2026 begins. One of my favourite TV stories. It Terrance had had access to the original four-part scripts I wonder if he’d have expanded the book to match… 🤔

Half Marathon Training: Run 27 / Parkrun - My Christmas started off with a 2K run, 5K Parkrun and 2K run home. So in total a broken up 9K run. And then a 7K bike ride to my sisters. 🤣 Very cold and very windy today but my first time at a Christmas Day Parkrun in about 7 years!

On the whole I enjoy Stranger Things 3, but the comedy is definitely ramped up. And Hopper just becomes so bloody irritating. Thankfully they got back to the horror roots with 4.

Half Marathon Training: Run 26 -Yesterday’s run. Dark and gloomy but I pushed myself. I think after Christmas I’m going to move my long runs to when I go straight home on a Monday. I’m struggling to motivate myself to run much of a distance in the dark.
