The Wheel has a parapsychology library. I’d love to know why they’re researching psychic phenomena and the paranormal in space. Or did they just not know what it meant?

In The Wheel in Space, you're meant to consider how the mind interacts with drugs and machine control. You're meant to ponder how life is lived inside space suits, space stations and other metal casings. We see metal corroding and a human mind breaking down. Symbolically, the story *is* a Cyberman.

For a race reliant on logic, the Cybermen's plan ain't half convoluted We had to listen to this in the cat a few times online holiday and its not as bad but some characters need to sit down and take the weight off their accents

Cyber... Eggs? EGGS? EGG-CELLENT? That bit is proper weird but the story has a certain charm and Zoe is an excellent Super Brain, far more fun than her companion predecessor.

There is some really good character writing in this, but it also has the stupidest plan the Cybermen have ever come up with (against some stiff competition). I’ve read arguments saying this is a parody of base under siege stories, but mostly I think it’s quite a boring base under siege story

It's an interesting one. Good characters, grumpy second Doctor, bimbling robot. But I have no idea what the hell the Cybermen are up to. I don't think convoluted even begins to sum up their plan! Zoe is immediately brilliant!

I'm glad the future where everyone wears jumpsuits never happened!

Better than it’s cracked up to be but don’t get me started on the awful astrophysics of the Cybermen’s plan!

Lalla Ward is so damn grumpy in this, it's weird. Clearly a rip-off of a famous 📖 Jago noting it's strange to have two companions with the same name! 😂 I expected more from this, there's no new ground here, but its still entertaining with J&L. Common cliffhanger. K9 being the act is fun. #MiniKettle

From Beyond the Grave (1974) has a suitably macabre atmosphere and soundtrack, with 4 excellent stories and Peter Cushing as the goulish looking shopkeeper. Warners segment is particularly memorable and beware old 🚪 peeps! I recall being a scared kid when I saw the man screaming. Pay debts! 10/10

Frenzy (1972) The tracking shot out into the street is 👌 Overuse of the 'b' word. Barry Foster is chilling and this is graphic with the killings and the infamous 🥔 Interesting seeing Bernard Cribbins as a nasty guy. The Inspector and his wife's cooking 😂 fantastic cast. Last 5 mins = gripping. 8/10

A wonderful self-contained story that shows what happens when the Doctor doesn't turn up. The Daleks are at their most conniving and this is the one time we're allowed to see them win. Very atmospheric, especially those jungle sound effects.

Terry Nation (and Doctor Who) at their most macho. Manly men doing manly things in a manly jungle, with the word "Space" in front of things to show that they're in the future. Naturally, it doesn't end well for *anybody*. It's oddly fascinating though. Doctor Who without any of the main cast in it.
