Great post, as always! I'd just add that multicollinearity is *almost* never an issue... unless your predictors are so heavily correlated that it becomes statistically spaghetti (i.e., that it becomes algebraically impossible to disentangle their unique effects, leading to unstable estimates).

@dingdingpeng.the100.ci and @vincentab.bsky.social wrote an amazing paper about marginal effects. While preparing my advanced statistics and methods class, I (surprisingly) had fun reproducing their Figure 1, adapting it to their Example 1, and ploting the text and arrows directly using ggplot().

Okay, so you've crunched your numbers and got some awesome statistical models? Sometimes, just knowing "X predicts Y" isn't enough to really get to the juicy bits. That's where the cool post-hoc stuff comes in – think estimated marginal means, contrasts, pairwise comparisons, or #marginaleffects.

Just got a new preprint, by the way. Nothing fancy, but the first (ever) victimisation study among unemployed individuals. Not nice to find that 1/2 have been discriminated against, think they are judged negatively because they are unemployed, and 1/10 feel useless because of their unemployment.

On a publié un nouveau travail (en français pour une fois). On entend souvent dire que "les chômeurs sont stigmatisés" (et c'est vrai). Cependant, aucun travail académique ne l'a jamais quantifié (même si l'UNEDIC a déjà réalisé de très beaux travaux qui s'en rapprochent). Donc on l'a fait.

C'est marrant, parce que c'est pareil pour le chômage. L'opinion n'est pas toute rose, mais quand même : 3 personnes sur 4 pensent que le chômage est "davantage une situation subie plutôt que choisie". C'est un peu ce que @vtiberj.bsky.social dit, la droitisation par le haut, pas par le bas.
