I used to do this but started thinking that artists were feeling like I was insincere. Hearing that this kind of feedback is appreciated is ... really good to know.

Sunday I begin a grand adventure. Back in January I began traveling when the moves happening in the US started to scare me. I’ve been couch surfing since. I’ve always wanted to live a nomad life so the last few months I’ve been retooling to live wild.

And this is easily avoided per project. For example, we cache all our frontend and backend dependencies, so our CI pipelines don't need to install deps on every run, saving not just registries bandwidth but us a lot of money in compute and engineering time. This just needs to be the easy default.

Oh it's excellent to see someone FINALLY calling out CI/CD methodology for being an intense resource drain on package managers like npm to the point where they're running out of hardware and bandwidth with no real funding to help fix it. About time.

Every so often I catch gen ai proponents following me, and I gotta remind ya'll... generative ai has done so much damage to the professional art world, to artist's individually, and to me personally. If you support gen ai, you support something that has caused me a lot of pain. Go away.
