Reform's accusation that Starmer is inciting violence by referring to some of their policies as racist would be hilarious and ironic if it weren't actually just a sad reflection of how far political discourse has fallen into the gutter

JFC Labour. Fix the economy, get growth going, get the NHS running better (waiting times etc), process immigration cases more efficiently under current rules. Shut up about immigration and get on with what those who voted for you want, not what you imagine the electorate will want in 3 years

Every week BBC reports all kinds of details about the maybe someday policies of Reform and it makes the headlines like it's actually happening. No wonder opinion polls show them so high. Would be nice to hear a little more about, idk, the government's policies? Next election is years away after all

First time in about 18 months that I've run anywhere other than laps of the park across the street. Back to Crystal Palace Park, where I love to run. I can now declare this long couch-to-5k period over and just go running, cautiously. The knee feels good

More unsolicited fantasy book reviews! This time "The Riddle-Master of Hed" by the late Patricia McKillip. It's the first in a trilogy, this volume first published in 1976. She has won loads of awards. This trilogy appears in Gollancz's Fantasy Masterworks collection. I liked it.

The body of evidence showing that when centrist parties adopt the priorities and talking points of the far right, they torpedo themselves is vast and powerful. Yet Keir Starmer's Labour Party seems determined to ignore it. A few examples in π§΅:
