I picked up Minky Woodcock: the Girl Called Cthulhu because I’m a sucker for Lovecraft stuff and was charmed by Cynthia Von Buhler’s woodcut-meets-psychedelia art and story that incorporates historical fact. Pulpy, spicy fun and now I must find the two earlier Minky series.

I thoroughly enjoyed issue #1 of MINDY WOODCOCK: THE GIRL CALLED CTHULHU by @cynthiavonbuhler.bsky.social. It's fascinating and crazy, yet also weirdly historically grounded. Also, the letter column is not to be missed, as each letter is essentially an entertaining footnote relating to the story!

Everyone is talking about that damn banana. I made this painting ages ago and the person who saw it in a gallery took a bite from the peach and bought it. That person was WBCN dj Oedipus and it still hangs in his house where he can replace the peach whenever he feels like it. #banana
