Dean Radin’s “The Conscious Universe” (1997) wowed me with its presentation of meta analysis in parapsychology, and I’ve been a fan ever since. His latest book, “The Science of Magic,” arrives next month alongside my “Mind Over Magick.” Having his endorsement is a true honor.

I picked up Urs App’s “The Mother of All Religions” based on Wouter Hanegraaff’s review. Charges of Blavatsky’s uncredited borrowings are not new—Coleman controversially accused her of plagiarism in 1895—but I’m excited to read an academically rigorous study of HPB’s thought & influences. /1

“Spinal Tap Π” movie party, with party favors including a branded bandana, inflatable (air?) guitar, pick, and other movie tie-ins. I went with low expectations—could they capture lightning in a bottle twice?—but this film was pretty funny. Especially the interviews running behind the end credits.

The amount of frisson I just experienced listening to the Atmos mix of Pink Floyd’s “Dark Side of the Moon” was off the charts. Goose bumps, chills, tingling, the works…over and over again. If I was a smoker, I’d definitely need a cigarette rn.

Their “exclusive littlest tea” includes a delightful selection of tea, a tower of treats, bubbly & little hats for photo ops. It’s easy to see why this cute place is in demand

An overdue acquisition: In “The Myth of Sacred Prostitution in Antiquity,” Stephanie Budin argues that the ancient practice of exchanging sex for money for a deity/temple did not actually happen, & that belief in this practice is the product of misunderstandings, wrong assumptions & bad methodology.
