I'm finding Keira as a silent character isn't working for me, now she's so central to events. It's really time she was cast.

Can anyone explain to me how The Bull's cctv is likely to work? If Jolene looks at it on her laptop, presumably it connects by wifi? So anyone who can connect to that wifi could connect to it. They wouldn't need Jolene's laptop. But I imagine the cctv would have its own password?

One thing that's puzzling me I don't think I've seen mentioned. After he heard the rustling in the trees, why did George say 'You won't get rid of me that easily', or words to that effect?

I've posted a link to a video of members of the current cast recreating the first scene of the 1st January 1951 episode, and the characters are drinking in that! Toasting the New Year with port. Jack Archer was particularly keen on having another glass...

I did wonder yesterday, when they mentioned a fractured skull, if the current plot was a homage to this incident. But somehow I doubt it!

In November 1951, less than a year after

Right, all whodunnits need a map ๐ง George was found where X marks the spot (naturally ๐). The building marked The Surgery is now The Vicarage. Note that Rex's boat is supposedly moored on the part of the Am just north of Church Spinney. Glebe Cottage throws Carol into the frame ๐

I said when he left that we hadn't heard the last of Clive. I wouldn't be surprised if he did it, though it's difficult to see what his motive might have been. He has form. And he's more dispensable than most of the other suspects.

I've just listened on catch up & throughly enjoyed it, but I am familiar with the play. It was an excellent way to recap

history, just the thing for the 75th Anniversary. The beeping & someone calling "Emma" at the end suggests it will turn out to have been a dream.

So... My money was on George being the one in hospital, but I thought it would be after a failed attempt to take his own life. Then the 'Truth & Lies' special would be like 'An Inspector Calls', with various characters confronted with how they drove George to suicide. Apparently not ๐คทโโ๏ธ

It's a mistake. The cast list is for the whole week ending 2nd January, and he is definitely in the cast this week! What's more interesting is whether he's in next week's cast list, which is missing from the BBC

I think it's no secret Nic didn't like George. I suspect she found his behaviour trying compared to her own children. She didn't want him to go on the holiday to Great Yarmouth & in fact Emma didn't want him to go, but Will insisted.

Listened again to yesterday's
#TheArchers
. In the first scene Amber was trying very hard to be supportive & say the right things, but she was clearly out of her depth. She's 19 & has led a fairly sheltered life. She isn't equipped to deal with a boyfriend with mental health & anger issues.

More than 19 years. George is 20. And arguably the origin of this story goes back to 2001.

It's interesting that incident was referenced this evening. Nic was wrong to hit George (in my view), but she didn't do it for no reason. But while she was castigated by George's family, as far as I can recall nothing was done to address his behaviour. He was not quite 3.

Strangely, now George is being absolutely vile, I'm starting to feel slightly sorry for him. I didn't at the time of the accident or when he was in prison. Possibly because I'm worried about his mental state.

It looks like it was a special afternoon play, rather than being in the regular episode slot. Rather like the Passion, Calendar Girls etc. they've done recently. Or the one-off anniversary special coming up at New Year.

Friend's funeral at crematorium today. It went off well, lovely (non-religious) service, very good turnout. His son did a wonderful eulogy. Cause of death was a heart attack. He was 63. I don't think I appreciated before how much we're going to miss him. Farewell Roger.
