It was good to hear yesterday that Stella has started her new job. The question now is whether it will last until Christmas π€π

It's just struck me that it's the Prodigal Son yet again. A purpetually popular dramatic theme.

Brad is a decent, honourable young man. He will suppress any feelings he has for Amber until after she & George have split up, and probably for a good while afterwards. Not only because of his misguided loyalty to George; he wouldn't do it to anyone.

Particularly classic announcer's introduction this evening π. I believe they are written by the week's SW. Plus a bit of fourth wall breaking, with the lines about having enough and needing some drama π

Thanks for that. I knew it was a majority holding, but it's good to have the actual figure. I think he & Lilian also have an interest in The Stables? If he buys land elsewhere, perhaps he & Lilian will drift apart π€

Well I wasn't expected this! And it's excellent! Labour are bringing back maintenance grants for students in higher education. They will be targeted to disadvantaged students studying priority courses to help them access & excel in their studies. They grants were abolished by the Tories in 2016.

Paul said he had cycled to Brookfield. Alistair must have driven past The Stables on his way from GG; why didn't he pick Paul up? Also, why didn't Paul go back later for his bike, to save faffing with wheels? Josh & Lily could drive him. Or he could walk, it's literally 300 yards.

The job is quite different from anything Stella's done before. They're expecting her to start sooner than she expected. And it *is* a long commute if you're not used to it. It's perfectly reasonable for her to be apprehensive about it. Hopefully she won't change her mind.

George's welcome home party is going to turn into either a) a massive, out-of-control rave, or b) a damp squib to which no-one apart from immediate family turn up. Can't decide which yet, but I'm tending towards b).

Not sure why the govt & media present ID cards almost entirely in the context of migration, on which it will have only a marginal effect. Rather, itβs a practical way for all of us to prove our identity when we need to, without pfaffing around with multiple cards and documents

Why do the owners seem to be unable to appoint a permanent general manager? They've had a series of temporary ones since Kathy left in 2022.

You mention the marriage bed. I've been thinking about that, but been too coy to say anything π. I doubt either of them has gone further than a quick snog & I don't suppose either has much of a clue. I can't see the night of 10th October going well.

The original united benefice, consisting of Ambridge, Penny Hassett & Edgeley, was created sometime in the early 1990s, when Jerry Buckle or Robin Stokes was vicar (don't know which). Darrington was added when Janet Fisher took over in 1995.
