I'm not the kind of person who hates everything Final Fantasy has put out since X or anything, but I do hope the success of games like Metaphor: ReFantazio and Clair Obscur encourages the series to try turn-based combat again. I do kinda miss it.

I'm still in the process of the final fight of FFVII Rebirth (finally), but I fucking hate this. I'm flabbergasted just how wildly they've missed the mark here. I expected them to pull some nonsense, but I didn't expect them to dramatically botch the most important moment of the whole damn story.

Well that's... sorta devastating. A lot of the best gaming content was made there, from insightful articles to hilarious videos. I hate how games media is being dismantled like this. Heartfelt thanks and sorrow to the people affected. Y'all deserved better. ❤️

New Devil May Cry show is pretty good? Fun time, until it's kinda heartbreaking and surprisingly political and timely. Enjoyed it.

I didn't think I'd be the type to like Blue Prince, but damn if I'm not 20 hours and 60 pages of notes in and having an absolute blast. I thought the note-taking would be tedious & obtuse, but the feeling of finally realizing the key to a bunch of random things you've been noting is second to none.

FINALLY finished Final Fantasy XVI, and... Man. I like a lot about this game. I like a lot about what it's trying to do. I just wish it came together better in the end. Won't go into spoilers, but the whole ending fell pretty flat for me. Didn't feel like it had a solid grasp on what it was about.

Whenever I'm playing Final Fantasy XIV with my spouse, and I come across a character whose name could be misconstrued and forced into a silly sentence, I do it. It gets me a groan (and occasionally a laugh).

Didn't expect them to just sorta drop "Silksong releasing this year" as a little blip in the upcoming games clipshow, but hey! I'll take it!!

I love all of SuperGiant's games and Pyre being their least popular is criminal because it is by and large the most unique (and easily my favorite). It's a lot of reading but it is so worth it, with a lot of cool, very impactful choices and a ""combat"" system of ritualistic basketball it is so cool

I work with grade schoolers, but regularly give lunch breaks to younger classes during naptime. Under no circumstances would I like to actually teach one of these classrooms, but the desire for the power to pick the naptime music so I can play the Dark Souls 2 Majula music on repeat is STRONG.

The Rifftrax riffing of The Room had a bit where Mark said something like, "I hate girls and their games," and one of the riffers was like "Mark's a Gamergater!!" I was the only one who laughed. I still think about that.

Can't agree with this take: anime films being under-represented at the Oscars is far more based on the Academy's disdain for animation than any bar-setting by major anime directors. They barely give respect to animation at all; of course they don't honor foreign animation easily.

Added note to this: I know it's very polyamorous of me, but I'm so tired of lazy love triangles. Come up with actual conflict instead of characters making drastic, stupid decisions over an arbitrary limitation on love. Give me real relationship drama, not petty possessive nonesne.
