#FolkloreThursday #Folklore In Northumberland in the 1800s, a medical man had to cut the groaning cheese and loaf after the birth of a child. If you've never heard of 'groaning cheese', neither had I! It's a childbirth custom where cheese was cut and shared. Apparently it was often Cheshire cheese
