Crunchyroll really has me thinking of going back to piracy. What kinda system kicks you out mid episode when the payment system shits the bed? Just feels like the product keeps getting worse and they want to increase prices?!

I finished Dragon Quest VII: Reimagined. It was a lot of fun. I never played the original, so I'm not too aware of what changed. I love the visuals too. Overall, it feels like a solid entry, but it doesn't touch DQ11.

Spent a lot of time this morning thinking about how great games are a preservation of culture. It took me nearly 40 years to learn about Gnosticism. It's themes are, intentionally, present in some of the earliest video games. Those themes propagated because of those games. It's just fascinating.

These game trailer shows really need to have the game title watermarked somewhere on the screen so that I don't have to ask "what is this?"

I've been going through DRPGs as a sort of study in game design and it feels like such an untapped genre. It's niche for sure, but even the games within don't venture from the standard formula much. I'm gonna have to start prototyping again.

Timeline. It's still the only movie I've ever walked out of... and I sat through Catwoman. I love the novel and the film just spits on it.

Dieting has really prepared me for AI discourse. The whole idea of "I need to be mindful of what I consume" really works for more than just food. Why am I consuming this? Does it nourish my mind/body/soul in a meaningful way? Will I regret this later?

One of the fascinating things about Digimon Time Stranger is that it takes place in the "real" world. Roads are not walkable spaces outside of the crosswalks, and it really hammers how much space is given up to cars, even in places that are more pedestrian focused.

As I work my way through book 7 of Dungeon Crawler Carl I've managed to identify this nagging feeling that's been growing. Carl feels more and more distant to the reader. The gap between his information and yours grows and so Carl goes from a character in a novel to one in a comic book.

The Isekai Office Worker anime has proven to be a lot better than I was expecting it to be. The whole "sex magic" thing gives me a chuckle every time, but the story is actually pretty solid. It feels slightly rushed, so the character relationships aren't as developed as they could be.

Booted up DQ7. It's nice to see custom difficulty settings. I wish more games let you mess with things a bit.

Just realized that I can disable quote posts in my Following feed! Now if I could just remove quote posts from all feeds. It is, quite simply, the worst feature in social media.

This is precisely why you don't let domestic cats roam outdoors. They will decimate the sausage roll population. Not because they need to, but because they can.

Finished Book 6 of Dungeon Crawler Carl. There's a lot of good plot development in this one. The card game stuff was alright. I think my only real complaint on this one was the time skips. "How are they getting out of this one?" *5 days earlier* "oh, I see"

One of my favorite jokes of all time is "Adolph Hitler Commits Suicide" being a tiny headline under the banner story about a hare-vs-tortoise race ... in 1943, two years before Hitler committed suicide. He was alive and well when the Warner Bros. cartoonists made this joke.

The emails are bad and everyone involved is awful, but a lot of people are sounding the same sort of crazy as the people who went through Hillary's emails. So... I guess I'm just saying, take a step back and stop dealing psychological damage to yourselves.

I got an email telling me that someone commented on one of my mods... It took me a bit to remember that I made a spell pack mod for Torchlight (the original). It was just called "Daikaze’s spell pack". Just a weird feeling to see some old work still persist.

The Spirit Lift was an interesting demo. I'm burnt out on roguelikes, but I do love the DRPG feel of it and it has me realizing how much I'd love a full-fledged horror-themed DRPG.

I finished the fifth book for Dungeon Crawler Carl on the weekend and it was probably my least favorite so far. The whole thing just felt so angry. It really lacked the whimsy and charm of the previous books. It wasn't bad, but previous books set a high bar. Book 6 is starting off strong though.

Man, the Highguard situation feels insane to me. I really hope they succeed, but I did not realize it was coming out in like a week. I was assuming late 2026 because I hadn't seen any marketing for it.

A combination of factors played a part in the original dub of DragonBall (Z), of which many aspects have been stripped away throughout the years, while others persist. First, the most prominent aspect was censorship. The show was always adapted in the U.S. to play on network television.

Watched the second episode of The Casebook of Arne and boy is it some whiplash. The first episode is pretty good, the second is just terrible. I suppose I'll give it a third, but I don't think I'll give it more than that if it's lacking.
