I love these shots in Kaidashi Kikou, and how well "grounded" the figures look. It's only recently that I've started playing more with ground level shots, specially after seeing some John Byrne's comics, and appreciating how his figures give this solid sense of weight, and balance.

This has been one of the most alienating things for me, from the beginning. Reading a book (or a comic), for me, it's a dialogue. Sometimes I love the author. Other times it's just "oh, they're back at their bs". And it's fun! Why would I want art that was made by no one??

This commission led to a chat on Discord on the depiction of Samuel Vimes. Hard disagree on Clint Eastwood as reference, as some artists did: Vimes strikes me as intensely humane; famous Eastwood characters don’t. I prefer Pratchett's nod at actor Pete Postlethwaite as reference.
