The question mark I have with RE 650s is the weight. 475 lbs / 210 kg can get you a Honda 750 transalp. But the transalp, for as functional it is does not look nearly as cool :P

Metro Detroit is a very flat, former seabed. In fact we have salt mines below the city. Once you go west 40 miles there are small hills which are rhe remnants of glaciers called moraines. I skipped the highway today and just took back roads around farms, lakes, and rivers.

Trying to read about the US bombing people and coming across paywalls on breaking news is just fucking infuriating

Wondering if the motorcycle brain ever really goes away...winter seemed to intensify it. Spending my mornings making routes, Googling coffee shops and places to pee. Trying to keep weekends generally free so I can go for rides, but also weeknights so I can meet up with friends at bike night 😅

I feel like the key to happiness lately has been sleep. If i have enough energy and motivation to get the things done, I feel accomplished. If I lose the rem cycles I just end up pretending through the whole day it seems.

I woke up in a good mood, which is a rarity. Got the car back from the shop yesterday - 200 bucks cheaper than expected - and it felt SO good to drive. Like it was on rails. Already got dinner sorted.

2 months we are gonna have a four day riding weekend in Southern Ohio. Detroit to Athens. Triple nickel and Hocking hills. I want to see the Indian mounds too. Think 300 miles in a day is too much? Skipping the interstate

Car in the shop always costs a bunch more money than I ever expect it to... all four struts/shocks, links, control arms, my engine mounts, front brakes and 2 tires. Part of me wanted to do less work so I wouldn't have to spend, but I also don't want to worry about driving a shitbox

Probably no riding this weekend. It's gonna be cold and rainy. Car will be in the shop. Guess I'll... clean the garage.

Call me old school but I have a hate any form of camera controlled surveillance, including speed cameras. Next up the waymos are gonna be calling the cops on people
