In this country, we do not swear loyalty to the POTUS. Federal employees, including military, take an oath to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic. *ALL enemies.* Even if those enemies are serving in our government.

Kinda expecting to be put on administrative leave at some point, since last year I received two national-level DEIA awards from the federal agency I work for (one group award, one individual). Especially since I haven't stopped doing the work that got me nominated in the first place.

One of the verboten words in the whole "shut down every federal program related to DEIA" tempest is, unsurprisingly, "inclusive." Which is a word at the forefront of the mission of the agency where I work. Just waiting to see how that plays out. 😡

A job I had hoped for and had gotten to the next stage in the hiring process has been canceled due to the federal hiring freeze. ☹️ My current job is also federal, but I was recognized nationally last year for my DEIA work, so who knows how that will play out. 😡

Libraries rule. And, at least in the U.S., have physical, ebooks, and audiobooks (along with lots of other cool stuff). And if they don't have the book you want, they may be able to get it through interlibrary loan or even purchasing it based on your request. So use your libraries, everyone!
