Thinking tonight: may small presses/journals/zines and grassroots/local arts spaces be oases of truth and creativity in a time where the media & social media are becoming more and more state controlled.

In a world where increasingly, things are not made for our enjoyment (or in some cases even survival), I've been thinking so much about the importance of being kind to ourselves as a way of supporting our communities. Because at the end of the day, you can't pour from an empty cup 🫗

Every flashbang could instead be a meal for a poor kid. Every hotel room for a National Guardsman deployed to fire at our neighbors could house a homeless vet. Every "less-than-lethal" bullet pulled from a journalist's eye could be already needed healthcare for anyone else. All of this is a choice.
