Comics are so weird. I love making them even though I know they're perhaps not the best medium for my ideas. For example I could get a lot more nuance across in prose or even poetry, and I could get a lot more enjoyment from throwing paint around a canvas. But I keep coming back to comics.

I think I may have finally settled on half letter as my next comic size. My ideal is 6x9 however you need specialty envelopes and it creates higher postage for smaller comics. Also if it's good enough for @johnporcellino.bsky.social King-Cat then it's good enough for me!

I really hope the US Postal service doesn't close. I was planning on sending some comics to some US friends this year. Makes you wonder, if the US loses regular mail, what non-filtered methods of communication are left?

I LOVE Doucet’s work. One thing I noticed recently (that I never saw before) her characters are almost always full body shots. It makes the comic appear almost like a stage play where you’re always seeing the whole stage.

Had one of those duh moments today. I realised that I make my best autobiographical comics when I’m having huge uncertainties in my life. uncertainty that leaves you with desperate questions that are compelling.

I’ve been putting Person of Interest TV show on in the background while I draw. It’s entertaining, reminds me of Batman if he didn’t wear a costume or have a bat cave.

Just got verbally abused by a library customer and they chose my accent to insult me 😂 I had to ask them to leave while they were cursing me out and I’m cracking up.

I’ve been really dialling in on brush combinations and techniques for these recent comics. I feel like I’m settling into some methods that I’m happy with.
