It's strange to consider a reality where the Switch 2 could be Nintendo's last console. Not because their brand is weak, but because manufacturing simply costs too much for them to sell enough new hardware to justify it. The AI bubble popping seems to be the fork in the road for that.

There's an argument happening right now about younger generations preferring big budget AAA graphics games or visually scrappy stuff like Minecraft and it feels REALLY obvious that the answer is that they like both of those things at the same time.

Baffling to me that people think Nintendo are playing it too safe, as if Bananza, Kirby Air Riders, Tomodachi Life, Yoshi And The Mysterious Book aren't all deeply strange games or unexpected sequels. Even Pokopia takes a beloved series into an entirely new genre. The Switch 2 is only a year old.

Looks like I'll have to wait more to have any kind of real impression of what an Ocarina of Time remake will be. But outside of that, I could not have been much more pleased with a Direct. Proper 2DHD Final Fantasy game? A new Fantasy Xenoblade game!? I GOT MY XENOBLADE UPGRADES MAN!

i think the "nintendo hire this man" jokes are funny and deserved but also i'm not going to worry about it in any sort of serious way until we actually see link get up and move around the world lol

I've heard people mention that projects like this are akin to trials for smaller studios working with Nintendo's big boy IP, and that seems to be the case. Test the waters, see how things fare, then let the studio make an original follow up (ex. Link's Awakening remake > Echoes of Wisdom)

Wishlist for tomorrow's Direct: - More Xenoblade Switch 2 updates

Thinking about what an Ocarina of Time remake would look like, it seems highly unlikely that Nintendo would allow for too much drastic change for their sacred cow. Safest bet is probably on updated visuals and controls/camera. Might seem obvious, but remakes can vary from TLOU Part 1 to RE2make!
