Nature frother. Tangata Tiriti. Freshwater Ecologist. Vietnamese and Pakeha heritage. Mum. Green MP.
In the bleakest, most harmful Government's remaining term in office, it becomes even more important to celebrate the wins. Congrats to community, iwi and hapū who have been fighting this madness for years 👏👏👏

BREAKING ‼️ My members bill has just been drawn from the biscuit tin that would draw a line in stopping any new mining on public Conservation land 🌳🦎🐧🐝🦋 ...with all the Government's attacks on nature, this could not come at a more critical time. Big ups to the original bill holder Eugenie Sage 🙌

A 40 year consensus on the existence and operation of a ministry dedicated to our environment is set to end. Not one Government party campaigned on this, and not one credible submission was in support ☠️☠️☠️

This week the Government looks set to push ahead with the disestablishment of the country's Ministry for the Environment. All at a time when they're boasting about cutting thousands more public sector jobs ☠️☠️

That time when the most anti-environment Government in Aotearoa NZ's history decided it would be a good idea to disestablish 40 years of the Ministry for the Environment despite overwhelming rejection from submitters& no clear justification or assurance of ongoing transparency ☠️

Jones blames The Green Party. 🥳Heck yeah, thats an endorsement imo. That’s why I’m voting for them Jonesy, and not men like you that’d sell our environment down the toilet for donors and dollars.

Incredible to celebrate the milestone of @capital.kiwi, mana whenua, iwi, landowners, schools and community with their 250th kiwi released into the Makara wilds in Pōneke. An absolute credit to the grass roots mahi. When we invest in nature, extraordinary things can and do happen 🥹👏

Another year, same reality that our rivers, lakes, and groundwater will continue to be polluted because of the Luxon Government prioritising private profits at any cost ☠️☠️ We need action, and when it's so clear Luxon's Government can't deliver on that, we need a new Green-led Government ✊️💧

Last year, over 9000 students were exposed to unsafe drinking water at school. That's unacceptable. Parents and teachers should be able to trust the water coming out of their tap, is safe. We all deserve a Government that treats the protection of drinking water sources as a foundational priority.
