Every Republican voter needs to understand that they are NOTHING to these people but a body to create capital. If you're old, sick, injured or otherwise not producing, they want you dead. You are not just an "acceptable loss", you are a burden. They hate you. They just love the money you produce.

7. Stand up to your government. Personally, I'm pissed about the ways I've been lied to and manipulated. My ancestors believed in good guest manners and breaking bread. I refuse to be complicit in continuous treaty violations so some soulless corporations can bleed more profit out of Mother Earth.

6. Learn about the land you're on. Forget performative land acknowledgements, *feel* what you think and say about the territory that houses and feeds you. Remember that the people of that land are her human embodiment; to love them is to love the land they're of, and vice versa.

5. Connect with the Nations around you. Reach out to Friendship Centres, volunteer your time, take classes that are open to all, attend powwows. Every discomfort you feel in having your past ignorance confronted will pale in comparison to the warmth, love, and belonging you'll find in these spaces.

4. Accept that you'll make mistakes and commit to swallowing pride and trying again. You'll never fully get there because growth is ongoing. For White folks especially, dominant systems rely on our defensiveness to persist. Don't be a pawn in oppression, direct your stubbornness where it's helpful.

3. Share what you're learning with other members of your cohort. Decolonization is as much about changing hearts as it is changing minds, so remember that you're in a unique place to be patient with people like you who are also learning. Helping them practice calm reflection makes better listeners.

I also cannot recommend Sterlin Harjo's (Muscogee) "Reservation Dogs" enough. You'll laugh, you'll cry, and you'll see lessons of love and community in action. Remember that stories of struggle--like YINTAH, another must-see--and stories of joy are of equal importance. Engage with both.

1. Read Indigenous works, listen to Indigenous voices. Today there will be ceremonies all across Turtle Island, make time to attend, prioritize them. For books, I recommend Robin Wall Kimmerer's (Potawatomi) "Braiding Sweetgrass" and Jesse Wente's (Ojibwe) "Unreconciled" as places to start.
