I saw one like that where a rusted ground strap caused a bunch of electrical issues. Something like three hours of diagnostic work for a four dollar part.

My favourite is a video of someone draining water out of an ECU, because water had *crept up the wires*

"The electrical components are sealed in the undercarriage." Okay tell that to the malformed housing/rotted gasket and it's the 5th time water has intruded and corroded the metal into a permanent short circuit and today you win the car problem lottery.

Todays cars are closer to a laptop than those of yesteryear. Water in a connector can mean thousands of dollars in repairs from fried electronics. Power seats can go for a few thousand dollars now. If it gets inside. They are not designed for water crossing.
