Two of my coworkers, one of whom I used to work with at my last job, were just converted from contractor to full employees. So that’s good. And an encouraging sign for when my contract is up in April. Though I’m still planning as if my contract will indeed end.

Woke up and felt mildly unsettled from a weird dream. Had coffee and I’m feeling better, my usual mild optimism has been restored.

One of my toxic traits is that I interpret silence as disapproval. It can and often does send me into an anxiety/RSD spiral. I’m working on unlearning that. Because I know that’s it’s almost always just in my head and my brain being mean to me.

Years ago I started making time to have coffee before work. Started out with a French press, moved on to an automatic drip machine, and finally a Chemex. So each morning I make a pour-over (or latte), sit and enjoy my coffee, and catch up on things on my phone. I like this little morning routine.

It just dawned on me that I’ve had the same phone number for 18 years. It’s the “18 years” part that I’m like “💀💀💀” about.
