Wondering how teams feel about the first week of regular season for #S3NAL? Competition looks absolutely brutal, makes you appreciate the depth around top & mid level in NA. Outside of your usual tournament winners, there are probably another 15-20 teams clawing for (and deserving of) top 8.

comp is a great tool to for learning how to not only actually process whats happening in the game but to also learn how to apply yourself and genuinely improve at a skill. of course, like any tool, you can easily misuse it and hurt yourself in the process. that is not the fault of the tool, but

Not to throw yet another task on TOs but I really liked the yellow/red card system back in the MLG days. Any player behaving "over the line" are given a yellow card (warning). Another yellow starts facing consequences (forced AFK in game, game loss, set loss, kicked out... up to TOs discretion).

Patch exceeded my already high expectations. They pulled me back into the game which I didn't anticipate. Not enough to make this my main game, but enough to watch high X Vods with a curious mind and package it as content in some form.

Really solid patch notes. The devs consistently make changes in the right direction for the game. They understand the game far better than we give them credit for. I always wish for more changes but this patch should be impactful. I will have to get on and try Nova and Brella changes tomorrow.

NA Splat League seems promising. Glad to see an overwhelming amount of community representation baked into its creation. Not sure if Nintendo will have a hashtag to follow the event on socials or if we should create one ourselves. Use it to capture clips, hype moments, results, stats, etc.

Nothing to add to discussions, processing the stories and experiences of all parties. Criticize the behavior, not the person. Give people a chance to grow. Celebrate those who try, celebrate the efforts, celebrate the hard work. A better community requires the growth of imperfect people.

When SSC was hacked, I became one of the only people Splatoon players knew to turn to. Whether my history with IPL, people assuming I'm on the council, or sendou. This had a significant impact on my mental health. We need them back. Or more TOs than you think will leave. Myself included.

Regardless of personal feelings, SSC has always been something I really took pride in our community having Their investigations seemed to take more time due to how thorough they were- which made me feel much better about them I remember how devastating the hack was and how some were overjoyed

I might just stop TOing after I'm done with my upcoming responsibilities. The players act like we get paid to be here and don't thank us basically ever when we work at least 3 hours (often more) every edition to give you a fun, fair, and safe tournament experience to the BEST OF OUR ABILITY. (1/3)

That event made me lose a large amount of my drive and interest in this community. The damage caused both directly to those attacked and indirectly to others was massive. You just didn't hear about it because everyone was keeping quiet to try and protect themselves. I know I'm far from the only one.

scep took up the mantle of being a public figure taking action to make the community safer. and you know what happened to them? they got doxxed. they get attacked for any mistake. it’s a proven fact that we can’t keep functioning without splat safety. it’s not sustainable. it’s hurting good people.

SSC was so close to being everything you asked it to be. And then the hack. Then half of the council resigned. Then a year ticked by. Those that are left are a skeleton crew of the movement WE once built to protect ourselves- our innocence, our justice, our peace. Our Truth.

I'm VERY vocal about providing space for growth and change (including Jackpot). At the same time, I have no patience for those who don't take that opportunity seriously. Madness has clearly shown unwillingness to take accountability. That behavior does not warrant acceptance from the community.

I'm not great at statements for stuff like this, nor should my voice be the the main one for this discussion today, but I wanted to briefly speak on the tournament situation today. If anything is unclear or needs clarification please let me know in the replies and I will try to clarify.
