Here's our little book on Frances Hodgkins alongside the Penguin Modern Painters book about her from 1943 The Penguin series was part of the inspiration for our Modern Women Artists series (Hodgkins was the only female artist included in the Penguin collection) 📚💙

Ithell Colquhoun (1906-1988). La Cathédrale Engloutie, circa 1950. The painting was inspired by stone circles on Er-Lannic, half-hidden by the waters of the Gulf of Morbihan, Brittany. The title refers to the Prelude for piano by Claude Debussy, a musical depiction of a legendary submerged cathedral
