Next up on the Final Fantasy playthrough is FF X! I'd played a minor amount of FF X-2 as a teenager, enough to know who the characters are, but didn't understand how turn based combat worked. The extent of my knowledge of this game came from a popular fan video of FF X/-2 set to Cascada 😂

Reporting in to say I have been officially diagnosed with ADHD as of today 🫡 It's been quite the journey from not knowing I had it, being encouraged by a friend to look into it, to being diagnosed with *combined* ADHD at the age of 34. Unsurprisingly, there's a whole mix of feelings about it

Having an absolutely balls week so far on account of having to cancel my plans/appointments the last couple of days due to continual fatigue 😔 But we did have the first online board games night w/our discord board game which was full of silliness & laughter which was super nice

After 2 years of "gently" prodding my partner to run 5E Strixhaven for me, we have finally started a play by post campaign *AND* I get to play both of my characters at once so I can live out my fantasy of attending a magic school as a moody maths wizard monk *AND* a social justice paladin-historian

Honestly, I am totally here for this strategy. ;)

My favourite part of going to bed has become my little bedtime routine with Ralph As soon as I get in, he hops up, marches straight over to me, stands a few inches from my face, purring LOUDLY. Petting him begins the biscuit making. Once that's over, he flops snugly against me as a little spoon 😍

Sean (almost 38) wasn't allowed to buy a discounted beer in our local CoOp today as they asked me for ID, which I don't carry on me I guess it's good to know that at the age of 34 I am still hampered/hampering others from making adult purchases. Though less good for Sean who did not get his beer 😂

We went to Exeter pride today 🏳️‍🌈 It was my first non-London pride & it was SO NICE! Held in a lovely part of Exeter, it was a much smaller, community & activist focused pride which was super friendly, inclusive & diverse Thanks so much to the organisers + volunteers for putting on a wonderful pride

Went to my first ever commander night at a local(ish) store that I really like. It had a wonderfully gender diverse clientele which I was v happy to see. Games wise the 1st game was a horribly boring 1.5 hr affair where I asked to be taken out of the game. 2nd was, thankfully, much more fun!

In better news, I have a puzzle assistant. In other news, this was taken a minute before he attempted to steal a puzzle piece. Not even one that's loose but DETACHED A PIECE from the puzzle in progress and tried to make off with it.

Shoutout to the D*P for completely failing to book me in for an assessment (despite me chasing them multiple times), then after booking me in for today at 2pm they failed to turn up for the appointment? They called 30 mins to tell me they "couldn't provide a time" of when it would happen 🤦

My analysis of Hopkinson's short story 'Fisherman' is brought to you today in a very interrupted fashion due to having my phone confiscated by the cat + now by my 2 hr long ADHD assessment. I would much rather write my thoughts but I guess the outcome of the assessment should, hopefully, be worth it

Finished my (re?)read of Curse of the Gloamglozer last night as a way to kickstart my Edge Chronicles readthrough This was one of my favourite series as a child but there are a bunch of books outside of the Twig Trilogy I never got to read. So as an adult I'm now fixing that 🥰

A brave breakfast boy! Ralph came over to me for his breakfast before I'd even finished putting it on the tray, had a little look out of the window + then retreated back to his hiding spot. A very brave boy indeed!

Meet out first foster friend - Ralph! He arrived a little while ago and we were very (calmly) excited to welcome him to his room. The shelter gives you EVERYTHING so we spent some time setting up his beds, blankets, toys, etc, gave him a little bit of wet food + then left him alone to decompress

We spoke to our foster coordinator earlier and made arrangements for our first foster friend to be dropped of tomorrow afternoon. So in typical AuDHD fashion I have spent my entire day getting the house ready and doing reams of research 😂 So excited I know I will not sleep tonight

Good, fun news time! Myself and my partner (Sean) are going to be starting our cat fostering journey tomorrow 🐈 We were approved last Weds before going to EasterCon so, for once, have been eagerly awaiting post-EC! Everything is ready to go so we can get our first little friend tomorrow

We arrived home earlier &, post nap, I wanted to reflect on something. And that is on the vital importance of community not only as a place of care and belonging but also as a place of gentle and holistic healing, as a place of allowing multitudes of identity and emotion, as a space for growth

Just a couple more hours then we shall be getting to train back home and I'm already sad. I always forget how much I love the structure that cons give me with the added joy of fun activities, easy access to friends IRL, and plenty of novelty to go with the comfort of routine. Makes my AuDHD go mmmm
