going into hibiki i kind of assumed asumu would be the pov/apprentice character but so far akira is the apprentice character and asumu is mostly completely separated from the oni plots and is busy being beaten up by shoplifters and getting appendicitis (which is fun in a different way dgmw)

If you see an indie artist open pre-orders for items (especially clothing, plushies, etc or enamel pins) which are obviously factory made, check their website and socials for answers to the above questions. Do not support artists who refuse to answer them.

Questions to ask artists who distribute (they are not making it) this type of merch: Can you name the country it's coming from? Which factories produce it? How are the workers paid? If it's pins, do they contain lead? How much plastic is being generated?

reposting from tumblr but let 2026 be the year I never have to see another makeship plushie or enamel pin kickstarter from an artist I used to admire again. hold artists to higher standards & do not exploit underpaid factory workers in the global south. just because you can doesn't mean you should!
