I think that before you're done your book, you should do a "confidence" pass, where you delete extraneous "thats," & "thens" & "ands" from the starts of sentences where they're only a crutch. Maybe even throw in a few semi-colons in place of a handful of safe "becauses." You can do it. #amediting

I quite liked the word "noontide" in my book set in the medieval era. A little color. But ... for consistency I feel like I'd have to go through & substitute like twenty instances of "eventide" & "morningtide," which ... nope. Feels like going from a tip of the hat to the era to donning a fedora.
