Set down a(nother) beta read over dialogue punctuation (bold; multiple speakers in the same paragraph; em dash at the start, quotes at the end). Author fought with me over every note. Look, 99% of this is just an opinion. You don't have to convince me of anything. No one is "right" here.

Good business advice but very Not For Me: Open a more popular book, highlight how much dialogue vs description it has, what all the scenes accomplish, etc. and then copy it with a new set of characters and details. Yeah, I get it, that is what readers want, but my brain Cannot.
