I keep waking up early. Good morning to all.

Managed to feint in the supermarket this evening. An acquaintance that I've not seen for ages was telling me the details of his prostate operation, I managed to say "don't say more or I'll feint" and next thing I knew there was two cashiers and a chair.

Have just been downstairs to get some water and the cat has left me the insides of some creature. Touched the offending article before I realised what it was. Major hand washing moment.

3am and we've all just finished work and now I'm not tired. I'm here chatting to the cat and I think the cat wants to sleep.

Working the night at home is interesting to see who is where, the cat bowls are always empty, and at 2:30am little mate (Cosmo) turned up, at everything and then got an extra breakfast. He looked very pleased with himself and headed back out.

Yesterday's work day ended with a monumental IT crash, just about coinciding with the arrival of our new CIO in the project war room. I went to bed at 2am after briefing everyone and a guy who is a genius* got to work. At 4:15am my phone rang "it's solved" and the emotion is not small (1 of 2)

I have been at work since 4:50am and I can smell my own body, this is not a plus. I've sent an email to everyone that I've been difficult against in the last week apologising for being such a ****.

Evening jog to get out of my own head.

I am emotionally exhausted after today, so I'm going to go for a gentle jog so my body can match my head and I might get some good sleep.

I am not proud of having lost my temper at work, but there didn't appear to be a constructive way to engage people that like to live within such a secure frame work of bureaucracy that actual work is slower than can be accepted. And now things that were taking days have just taken moments.

There were sheep on this morning's run. At km 9 I twisted my ankle and fell over and the last 3k were the far end of uncomfortable. I'm now home cooking lunch and hoping for sympathy.

I can't work out if the new chap across the road has a lot of different friends that leave in the morning or a lot of success in yellow Facebook? No matter the answer it brings a bit of life to the village and good for him for having such a full social life.

I've just seen someone eat rice, potatoes and butter for their lunch. Apparently they are a vegetarian who doesn't eat egg and doesn't much like vegetables. Must be tricky

I'd forgotten how immersed in the running world I am. I did my best ever time at Parkrun on Saturday and came to work and chatted about it and people didn't even get it 🤷‍♂️

For the first time in 28 years of work travel my laptop bag is too big and I've had to pay £68 to take it. Utterly unreasonable policies implemented with at least a sense of humanity. Wizz Air. What a fail.

My Marathon photos have appeared and are half full of this guy that photoshopped himself a fake bib and randomly picked my number 🤷‍♂️ (His friend behind hasn't even got a running number at all!)
