2-0-1 with Naya heroes. Prerelease was a lot of fun. This limited environment feels super bomb heavy.

Tried the Melded Moxite mono red madness variant and wasn’t super happy with it. Granted we were testing problematic matchups but still it sacrificing speed to try and hedge more draw spells to more consistently find combo pieces. Red should never hedge it needs to go all it.

Rough week in pauper 1-2 into 2-2 on mono red. Lost to the mirror, elves, whale combo, and orzov blade. Beat affinity, mirror, and rally. Weird week need to go back in the tank and test some more.

2-1 on Tuesday 3-1 on Friday. Am hoping to start getting some trophies soon but the consistent positive record has been enough to put me at the top of Chicago pauper league currently. Enjoying the company of the local community most of all. Excited for Pauper Genesis next month.

3-1 at pauper last night with mono red madness. Lost a close match in round 3 to Selesnya gates but was able to punch through ponza, fams, and a mirror without dropping a game. Deck feels strong think I need to slow down a little one some of the big turns.

2-2 with monsters on Friday and then 0-2 into the bye with affinity last night. New deck growing pains may rock up with madness on Friday to try and get back in the win column. Game store had free extra beer so that was a good consolidation prize.

Switching it up after the 1k, went 2-1 with gruul monsters. After the unbanning I believe the ponza version of that deck looks really strong and am considering pivoting into it.

Split top 8 of Dice Dojo pauper 1k today with mono red madness. Horrible mull to 4 game 1, but the deck ran really well after that. Picking up either spy or grixis affinity now to focus on pauper more in the future and grow the Chicago Pauper league. Matchups listed in comments. Loot is happy!

3-1 at dojo and then 2-1 at tower. Dropped a match to a mirror and then to jeskai ephemerate. Madness feels strong but with all the life gain running around it can be hard to fight through. Hope we get something new or downshifted to prevent this in the future.

Chicago pauper league zero in the books. Finished 3rd in the league and 13th at the invitational… The last minute pivot to bogles was not the answer. Excited for league one to resume this week!

Missed the prerelease this weekend but still got to play lots of magic through modern testing and a pauper cube birthday/going away party today. Got to play Izzet kiln fiend pirates which was a ton of fun, shifting between control to keep monarch and explosive prowess turns. Ready for RCQs!

Finished 3rd during season 0 of the Chicago pauper league, excited for the invitational. Went ent 3-1 at my first modern event, playing academic prowess. Happy to be focusing on these two formats during RCQ season and the big upcoming pauper events!

3-1 at pauper FNM to slide back into second for league rankings. Lost to a golgari pest champion which is a tough match for madness post board but I think madness has the best chance of getting under the control pile. Going to keep practicing with madness for NRG trios and start grinding modern.

Mixed weekend of magic. 2-2 at FNM pauper playing mono red madness. It’s powerful but there is a fail rate that makes it frustrating. 4-1-2 at standard RCQ with Izzet prowess. Deck ran great didn’t drop a game until top 4 but then couldn’t win the rematch against Azorious Airbending.

Fun weekend of Magic. 3-1 at FNM for third with mono blue fairies and then 4-3 as a team for NRG team trios. Went 5-2 as the standard seat with Izzet prowess. Otters good 🦦🦦🦦🦦 The magic is always exciting but the gathering will always be the best part.

4-2 at the dice dojo pauper wonderland charity tournament to get 17th of 55 and barely miss prizing. Salvaged a good record from an 0-1 start but lost my win and in to a great player and friend who I respect a lot. Still have more growth but happy with today’s performance.

Great weekend of magic Went 3-1 at pauper FNM. Played mono red madness, beat gardens, ponza, and elves lost to pestilence. Meta was not snake friendly happy I put delver away for the time being. Top 8’d Sunday‘a RCQ placed 6th but the store cut to top 4. 3-2 record, excited for bans tomorrow.

3-1 at FNM into 7th place at the NRG pauper 1k. Happy to break delver back out for some big tournaments but will be shaking things up soon. Azure Fleet Admiral was awesome in the side. Local store had 6/8 in top 8 and my two teammates split finals, was a great day.

Just finished the fifth stormlight archive book. Was my least favorite of the five but really enjoyed the series overall. Excited to read the next era and clean up the remaining Cosmere stories I have outstanding. Journey before destination.
