NYPD and most local PDS continues to be greatest challenge to democratic oversight and supervision. You can't police Trump, the oligarchs, etc. if the cops dont work for you and often against you. If you keep ignoring the PD problem you are just working on the margins.

I say it all of the time because it's true: Islamophobia in the U.S. is absolutely one of the most tolerated forms of bigotry. It's everywhere, routine and rarely challenged. It's not surprising that teenagers who swim in this water from birth would also be Islamophobic.

Finally did some camping after years away. With an old nyc teaching fellow who is Bay Area. We met up by SLO, Cerro Alto by Morro Bay, and got last spot in the campground and despite the some rain we got in a good hike. Then went into town for food, dive bar and NBA playoffs.

All adults and some children on ICE flights—some 50 flights a day now—are shackled at the wrists and ankles attached to a chain around their waists. I have spoken to migrants and their attorneys who report being shackled for 50, 75, and 82 hours while being deported. Flight data backs this up.
